The Legislative Committee and the Legislative Liaison meets monthly to review pending legislation and determine what action if any the Joint Council should take on those bills.

After the Legislative Committee determines its course of action on a bill, the Legislative Liaison contacts members of the Senate and/or Assembly and advises them of the Teamsters position in the matter.

The Legislative Liaison also makes monthly visits to the State Capitol to meet and talk with the Legislators regarding the bills being acted on by the Joint Council.

This Legislative web page has been created to let you know about legislation that has been introduced that could affect you and your families.

The Assembly or Senate bill number is listed along with a brief description of the bill and the Joint Council’s position on the bill.

  • Click on the PDF next to the bill and you can view the bill in its entirety.
  • Click on the PDF next to the History and you can view the bills history.

The names of all of the Senators and Assembly Representatives are listed on the web page including all of their contact information.

A listing of all of the Senate and Assembly Cmmittees are also on the web page including the names of the Legislators on each respective committee and their party affilation.

Legislation is being introduced daily at the Capitol.  There are those that continue to attempt legislation that attacks and takes collective bargaining rights away from organized labor.  On the other hand there are those that attempt legislation that will benefit organized labor.

All Teamsters need to be cognizant of these types of legislation and who the Assembly and Senate members are that introduce the bills and how they vote.

If you are aware of any legislation that is being or has been introduced that may impact you or your family or fellow Teamsters, please advise your Business Representative.  That message will then be forwarded to the Legislative Committee for its review.

This Web Page will be updated as often as possible.

All members need to get involved politically.  Please contact your Legislators regarding the bills that are listed on the Web Page, or any other bill that you are interested in.  Make sure that you identify yourself as a Teamster member when you contact your Legislators.

Our Legislators need to know that TEAMSTERS are keeping track of their activities in Madison.

Fraternally,

Wisconsin Teamsters Joint Council Executive Board
